Ben Roberts, 2020 Speaker

Rev. Ben Roberts, is a North Carolina native from Oak Island. After graduating from Greensboro College in 2008, Ben came to Wesley Theological Seminary to pursue his Master of Divinity.

In his first year he worked an internship with former North Carolina Congressman Brad Miller. Ben then spent one year abroad with a non-profit teaching English in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Upon returning Ben resumed studies at Wesley while working at American University and completing his pastoral internship with The United Methodist General Board of Church and Society.

Upon graduating Wesley in 2013 Ben briefly filled an interim position at Foundry. Shortly after, Ben was hired full-time as the Director of Social Justice Ministries. At Foundry he has responsibility for the Justice and Mercy ministries of the congregation including helping neighbors purchase vital documents like birth certificates and ID, Foundry’s ESL program, and Foundry advocacy engagement on a variety of issues from homelessness to immigration.

Ben is married to Cortney Donnalley and lives in Southwest DC with son George and dog Nora.

Ben served for three years as the NC Conference Youth Ministries Treasurer.

Ben Roberts will be speaking during the Friday Evening session.
