Pilgrimage 2020 will be held virtually.
NCC Pilgrimage to reach an exciting new milestone in ministry with first-ever virtual Pilgrimage.
Our decision to adjust the structure of Pilgrimage 2020 from an in-person event to a virtual event was not made lightly and was prayerfully guided by the core values of the NC Conference Youth Ministry. Our planning for the 2020 event will further be guided by these values, as well as by an extended planning team made up of youth and adult leaders, lay and clergy members, and NC Conference representatives.
The core values of the NC Conference Youth Ministry are to:
- Create meaningful and Christ-centered learning, mission and worship experiences for youth of the NC Conference
- Empower, equip and nurture youth to become leaders in the local, district and conference levels of the church
- Practice Wesleyan traditions while embodying the spirit of Christ in uniting diverse members of our community
We treasure our partnership with youth, their leaders and churches. That’s why we need your ideas and suggestions for Pilgrimage 2020. We invite you to share your thoughts on how we can create a meaningful and Christ-centered virtual worship experience for Pilgrimage 2020. We know that many of you have questions. We are working through many of them ourselves. We ask that you be patient as we work to create a new type of event. All updates will be posted at nccpilgrimage.org/p20. Below is a list of questions that you may have.
When will registration open?
Registration will open on September 1, 2020.
What if I have already applied to Participate as a youth?
We will still be providing the opportunity for youth to Share Their Story, Share the Creative Arts, Participate in the House Band and Share Scripture In An Alternate Language. Applications received will still be considered and future applications will be accepted.
In addition, more opportunities for youth to participate will be shared in the coming weeks.
Are there still going to be House Band auditions?
Auditions for the House Band will take place, but in a different manner. Youth that have applied to participate in the House Band can expect an email from our team with more information.
Will the event still be 3 days?
In short, we are not sure yet. More information about the structure and schedule of the event will be shared in the coming weeks.
What will registration cost?
Our team is currently reviewing our event budget and will provide information on registration costs in the coming weeks.
