Youth leadership is central to Pilgrimage. The NC Conference Committee on Youth Ministries defines the direction of each annual event. Youth leaders of the Conference participate in the event planning process, as well as serve as worship leaders during the Pilgrimage weekend.
Creative Arts
Opportunities are available through Dance, Song, Skit or pre-recorded Video or other! Groups are encouraged to submit their interpretation of the Theme through the creative arts.
Groups with any creative interpretation of the Theme are invited to participate!

Overall guidelines:
- Performance reflects the overall theme and embodies the mission of The Pilgrimage Ministry.
- Youth-only submissions. There should be no adult leaders in the performance (both the submission and the final version).
- The submission should be a close representation of of the final performance.
Leadership through Dance:
- Dance is no longer than 5 minutes and is uplifting
- Dancer(s) from your church
- Dress, music and content are appropriate for worship and the overall purpose of our gathering
Leadership through Song:
- Song is no longer than 5 minutes and is uplifting
- Dress, music, and content are appropriate for worship and the overall purpose of our gathering
Leadership through Skit:
- Skit is no longer than 5 minutes and is uplifting
- Utilize the majority of your group
- Dress, music, and content appropriate for worship and the overall purpose of our gathering
Leadership through Video:
- Video is no longer than 3 minutes and is uplifting
- Utilize majority of your youth group
- Dress, music, and content appropriate for worship and the overall purpose of our gathering
Overall guidelines and requirements of the Ministry as guided by the Gospel:
- Please do not use derogatory language of any kind or images of illegal drugs used in order to make a point
- Please create an encouraging message without use of fear or fearful images

Artist recordings are covered and protected by U.S. Copyright Laws and Regulations. Obtaining copyright permissions and purchasing broadcast licenses for artist recordings can be a time-consuming and expensive endeavor. We strongly encourage groups submitting worship offerings to use in-house music or original music when possible. If there is a question about the use of music, please reach out. For groups using artist recordings, we reserve the right to refuse a submission depending on the overall cost or the inability to secure the necessary permissions and/or licenses.
